For drummers and other musicians! What do you think is the best? Zildjian, Sabian, Paiste, Meinl or Istanbul?
I've been playing Sabian for the past 12 years, and I've never been disappointed (except when they cancelled the AA series...they only sell the AAX now.) It depends on what kind of music you play and/or what kind of sound you're looking for. Each manufacturer has different series of cymbals that have varying sound properties. Sabian, Zildian, and Paiste are by far the biggest players in the industry, and all are quality cymbals. I happen to prefer Sabian because they have a very bright, fast, shimmery tone with quick decay. If you're trying to choose new cymbals, go on the manufacturer's websites. Most will have sound clips of what the cymbals sound like. Or, if you're really serious about what you're playing, go to a music store and play them for yourself. See what you like the best.
