Internet Explorer 7 is crashing immediately after updating.?
Hi, I cannot use I.E.7 with add-ons because it keeps crashing.
It happened after security updates which I got a patch for - this fixed one problem but not the Internet Explorer one.
When I tried to uninstall IE and it's updates (to re-install them) I received a warning about a list of applications that would be affected, so I'm concerned about doing this.
I am now using Mozilla Firefox which is ok but the add-ons I need for my ebay listings etc aren't available for it (I now need to know html to revise my listings). Also the look of the websites isn't as good (mainly really thin fonts)
Any advice to any of these points would be greatly appreciated, Thanks,
Al
If you uninstall IE7 it'll just downgrade to IE6. Do not worry about the things affected as they really don't depend on IE7 other than for internet access.
Also, there is an option to run IE7 without addons. You can do this by right clicking on the IE7 icon and pressing the "run without addons" (or, IIRC, pressing the start button and going to "All Programs", "Accessories" and looking for something that goes along the lines of "Run IE7 without addons")
From there, you can see whether or not the addons are making your IE7 crash rather than the updates
If addons are affecting it, you can disable the offending ones (through trial and error) by going to "Tools" and "Manage Addons"
