Can you block with a tapped creature in magic the gathering?

Well, I was wondering if you could block a normal creature with one of your tapped normal creatures. Thats about it.

Unless you play an ablilty to untap the creature you would like to block with, no, it cannot be used as a blocker unless specified otherwise.

There are creatures however, that do not need to tap to attack, this ability is called vigilance. So, if you attacked with a creature with vigilance, he could be a potential blocker on your opponents turn.
