How to run "x8all71hq.bin" file to updage AVG 8.0 antivirus on stand alone PC with Windows XP O/S?
I've downloaded "x8all71hq.bin" file to update AVG 8.0 on my pc which has Internet connection & windows XP O/S. How to update AVG 8.0 on a Stand alone PC with WIN XP? It doesn't work fine! it asks for VLC Media Player or Internet Explorer? Is there any way to run .bin file on Win O/S?
First U neet to tell if u have the free ver8 edition....As the seperate downloaded file does not work for it as those are ment for the complete edition.
If its the free edition then you will need to right click on the icon on the taskbar and say update now while the internet is connected....
else you can also double click the icon (avg) and when it Overview (left Tab) opens click the Update Now.... the update process becomes visible after a short while once it shows....which kind of updates are available.... all u need to say is UPDATE again if there are avail...
u need to repeat this process till AVG says no new updates....
this is the simplest way...........
Wel just to give a try with the file u already downloaded..... double click on the taskbar icon and on the top menu options click tools...then say update from Directory.... select the drive then the folders where ur (.bin) file is then say OK..... may just work...
