I've been playing drums for a bit over 4 years now and I just have a cheap no name brand kit that I've been practicing on for the last few years. I wanna sell that kit and get a new one I've always liked Tama's, I'm 16 and have a part time job so I can't afford thousands upon thousands (like most ppl lol) I'm looking at getting that kit and also a pair of (cause the kit doesnt come with cymbals)

the drums are very nice. i play on a tama starclassic myself, but as you said, lots of money lol. but the imperialstar is a great kit for the money and you will definitely be pleased. as for the cymbals.... i would suggest trying to stick with one brand of cymbals. go with sabian or zildjian, not both. and if you go zildjian, i would suggest staying away from the zbt series. i used to play a customs myself, and i loooooove them. great cymbals, great sound for the money. i made the switch to paiste though. i would suggest checking them out if you havnt already.
