What genre of music is the Sabian B8 cymbals meant for?
I recently bought some B8s and i tend to play rock and they sound great but im just wondering what genre there really for
Sabian B8 cymbals are basic good quality at a great price cymbals. They'll sound best in a rock setting and would cut through well in a concert band setting. They tend toward bright and as such might be the wrong choice in a Jazz trio or dance band. You might find them used an any situation (gig, recording) as they could do just exactly what the drummer/percussionist required. However, in a large venue without microphones their brightness might make them feel/sound weak.
Even within the grouping (B8) there will be variations from one (say 20") cymbal and another. You might find over time that you love your Hi Hats but that you need a heavy Ride in certain situations.
You can never have too many cymbals (except when carrying to/from a gig).
