How should i set up my drum kit?
Ok so i'm a newb when it comes to drumming. But i've been practicing and getting better. Now I'm not exactly sure if I have it set up right. I'm sure many different ways are right, but I want it to be setup the standard way. I'm lefthanded so i have the drums setup with the snare to my right with the high hat right of it. the floor tom to the left of me, and the toms setup with the smaller on the right. Now i think thats right, but as for the cymbals i have a 10inch splash, 20inch Ride, 16inch crash, and an 18inch crash ride. My problem is i'm not exactly sure how i should be setting them up. I don't have preference where they go. And i also have an 18 inch china, and a man made 14inch china that i don't know what to do with. Also, if there are any suggestions on whatelse i might need if i'm missing something that would be helpful. Thank you!
Yea the way you set up the hi-hat the snare and the toms is correct for a left handed person on a standard set. All that would be left on a standard drum set is a crash and a ride so the crash would go to the right between where the smallest tom is and the Hi-hat is set up and the ride would go to the left behind the standing tom. You could also go from biggest cymbal on the outsides to the smaller ones ending up in the middle if you are wanting to use them all, with biggest crash to your far right and biggest ride to your far left. A china is basically a crash cymbal. Hope this helps
