Sims castaway - stuck on tribal affair?

i'v e made friends with everyone i need to, but i cannot figure out hoe to use the shell phone. everytime i call(from my house) everyone is gone or i wake them up!
how am i supposed to finish this? i'm supposed to find a date. someone said to go to the hot springs and call from there, but im not able to put the shell phone down anywhere so i can call,
any help would be great =)

I have been having problems with that chapter also. I fianlly figured it out today. you do have to go to Hot Springs. When you get there click on your Sim and it will give you an option to call, (watch clouds/stars, etc.). Then you are able to call.
I am not sure why when you are at the Logoon you have to put the phone down, but it seems like everywhere else you can click on your SIM and you are able to use the shell phone.
