How to make an old car radio head unit into a home radio?
It worked fine in the car before been replaced by a new one. It has digital tuner and presets. It would be nice to use it at home. What extra stuff is needed?
I've done this in my shop.
You'll need a small 12V DC power supply. 2-3 amps is usually enough unless it's really a high powered deck. You'll will also need a cheap car antenna to get any sort of reception. That's 'bout it.
Mine is hooked into a large amp I had around for years...not a car amp...a home amp...and I used speakers I built. It's a rockin' shop.
