Hitting Washy hi-hats while using double bass pedal?
I have a pair of Sabian B8 cymbals, not the best for metal or heavy rock but there still pretty good. However they sound pretty ringy when you hit em open. Is then any specifics of how i should have them set when playing them while doing double bass?
These are basically small splash size cymbals also would be called "mini" hi-hat cymbals. They are mainly used for accent and not used as main hi-hats. When hit opened position the top cymbal will simply sound as a small splash with a bright ring. You should consider bigger sized hi-hats that are 13" or 14" sizes. There are even 16" and 17" hi-hats, you will get fuller projection with these. Also B8 cymbals are very different by how they are produced that result in their sounds. We recommend cymbals made with B20 alloy and especially hand hammered ones for their better sound qualities.
