If your a forward do you have to have really good handles?

my handles aren't so great and i know i cant be a quard, i still practice my handles but i know i still suck. should my handles be great or just decent? also can you give me any drills?

It is a great advantage to be able to handle the ball at any position. It makes you more of a threat from any spot on the floor if you can go around your man as easily as you can shoot over the top of him. This keeps your opponent guessing. If he sags off of you, you can shoot if he tightens up you can dribble around him for the lay up or even a mid range jumper. Also a good jab step, short long, or cross over move can help you get around your opponent and create your own shot.

We use these dribbling drills everyday at practice and I see substantial improvement in every player on my team, including my post players. The site includes video clips for each ball handling/dribbling technique to help ensure that you are doing them properly. These are the same set of dribbling drills that were created by Press Maravich for his son Pete Maravich while Pete was growing up. I have been coaching for 20 years and I use this sight myself to get new drills to use at my practices to keep them fresh and interesting. When I take a new drill form this sight, if my players like it I use it, if they don't I modify it or throw it out.
