If you could pick 4 or 5 musicians from any time and any genre and make a fantasy rock band, who would they be
For example I think of Liszt as having the skills and personality of a lead guitarist. Jack Bruce said that Bach is the all time greatest bass player and who am I to argue? Mozart on keys. I've heard many people say that Beethoven would have been a rocker if he was alive today and I agree, and I kinda like the idea of putting him on drums. So there you have it.
Liszt - lead guitar
Bach - bass
Mozart - keys
Beethoven - drums
(I'd skip the operatic vocals as that is my bias, so I'd either enlist a rock singer, say Paul Rogers, or just leave it as a bitchin' instrumental band)
If you can't limit yourself to one fantasy band, try two or three...
That would be an interesting band Cold Roses.
I like Puff's suggestion too, but though I do like Ringo, he's not my favorite drummer (but I'm nitpicking).
hmmm, im not sure about a full band, but i would love to see a session with these guys produce an album:
