For those artistically-minded people out there: Do you see Beauty in Danger?
It is the series of moments after you jump off a cliff and before plunge into a deep pool of water; your eyes open and it seems time slows as you feel you are floating even before you hit the water. A spider waits patiently for an insect to be snared in it's dew-sprinkled web. Light reflects off a clean blade, lying on a kitchen floor. Windows burst as a fire consumes an old building.
Does anyone else see the beauty in these events? Are the events beautiful because of the surroundings (the calm lake below, the feeling of no suspension, nothing holding us, ultimate freedom when we jump) or because we sense the danger and it excites us?
Does anyone else find danger beautiful?
If so, give examples! I am especially interested in danger in reference to action in nature, like the examples above (the moment when you are in the air, the spider waiting- we know there will be action soon). Do you feel beauty when skydiving or driving too fast?
