So i know nothing about electronic sets, do i need a pedal for this set?

i'm buying my first set, all though i am familiar with playing drums, and this is right in my price range. its has real drums shells and heads, i believe they come with it?
and i need to buy a pedal for the bass right? any suggestions?
anything someone think i should know about this kit?

I don't know much about electronic sets either, but I will say this:
Based on what they LOOKED like on the website, I'd go with the Yamaha. I mean, both sets are complete sets, so they come with the supports, all of the basic pads you'll need, and a good module. I haven't heard much about Alesis, but I know that Yamaha makes really good electronic sets. Plus, the Yamaha looks sturdier, and it comes with the bass pedal. The only thing I can see that the Alesis beats the Yamaha in is the module - the Alesis module has WAY more sounds on it (540) than the Yamaha (214). Not to mention that the Yamaha has a higher rating and more reviews than the Alesis.
It just seems to me that for the same price, you'd be getting more bang for your buck with the Yamaha.
