Drummers please help!!!!!!!!!!!?
I have Rock Band 2 for the Ps3 and I have become addicted to the drumming. I am taking the 1st steps to learn to drum outside of video games with a practice pad to learn the rudiments and such. I have been drooling over the Ion Rocker premium drum Controller and think I might buy it to use for Rb2 and real drumming. What I would like is some opinions on the Ion for dual purpose ( I would use the dm5 drum module ) Any constructive thoughts would be appreciated. 10 points to the answerer who can help me make the best choice!!!
Well I don't know a lot about the Ion, I think it is a cool concept and would be awesome for the game. You could certainly use it with the Alesis drum module and work on your real drumming, but it doesn't appear to have a hi-hat pedal or really any hi-hats at all. You just have two regular cymbals. Of course you can assign whatever sound you want but still no way to operate the hi-hat unless I'm mistaken. Personally if you must use electronic drums I would just get the complete Alesis DM5 kit for $599. If there is any way you could practice on acoustic drums at home that would be much better than electronic, but the main thing is just to practice. There will be some nuances of drumming you will never pick up on electronic drums. Either way just do whatever works for you and stick with it.
