Does eating Chinese food affect your baby whilst breastfeeding?
My 5 day old baby has reflux (not bad though) and I've been invited to chinese for lunch today, I'm a bit worried that it could affect him with wind etc? Does anyone have any experience with this? 
No my mum believes in all the sayings about not eating particular foods and told me not to eat such things but i have eaten all kinds during breastfeeding my 6 month old and have found only a few things that give him wind such as onions, cabbage and broccoli. It is impossible to know what food your baby will be sensitive to so its a case of trial and error, there is no point avoiding dishes when you do not know for sure how your baby will react.
My baby also has reflux that has got better as he has gotten older but it hasn't made any difference to him getting more wind etc, enjoy your meal and hopefully you will find that it won't affect your baby. And don't believe the tales about spicy food etc affecting the baby as my health visitor told me breastfed babies love garlic and spicy food and my son does!!
