What size snare drum should I get?
I'm getting a birch yamaha snare drum. It can either be 10x5 or 12x5. Which do you think I should get? I'm in 6th grade.

Hi, Anya. I suppose your question ended up here because a drum is also a type of fish. But you are in luck because I fish and play drums. Yamaha makes nice drums. I would go with the 12 inch because it will sound a little louder when you need it to and will still play softly. If you are allowed, it would be nice to get a bigger drum like a 14 inch diameter because if someday you want to play a whole set of drums, this is the size that is most common. But don't worry, you can still use the smaller drum if you want to. Welcome to the wonderful world of percussion and practice hard, OK. The world can always use another good drummer. P.S. If you don't like drums after trying them for awhile, try some other musical instrument. Music is a wonderful thing that can give you a lifetime of pleasure.
