Should i get a wooden or metal glockenspiel?
isn't a glockenspiel the same thing as a xylophone, and generally how many bars and notes should a good one have? and why are they generally used for children?

The type and price tell you this one is for children's play, not a serious instrument. It's similar to a xylophone, but has two differences. A xylophone is a much larger, having quite a few keys (what the bars are called). They are made of either metal or bamboo, not wood. It is used in stationary situations where it doesn't need to be moved.
The glockenspiel, or a similar instrument called a bell lyre, are meant for carrying in a parade, so they are much smaller. It comes with a holder for a central post that is placed on the hip so it can be carried while marching.
To select a toy for your child the brightly colored one would probably be fun. If your child is going to be using it for a genuine musical instrument, you'll need to find one that suits their needs. The toy "glock" as they are called, could be played sitting on a table or standing up.
