Why didn't Adam explode when God made him?
God made adam from sand, or Silicon dioxide (SiO2).
The human body is made up mostly of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, as well as lesser amounts of nitrogen, potassium, etc.
So, when converting the sand to human flesh, the breakdown required to form the chemical composition of a human from that of an equal weight of sand would result in a massive release of energy, resulting in an explosion on a nuclear scale as the chemical bonds were broken and atomic components rearranged.
You'll get similar results from dirt, dust and clay.
Maybe God should have stuck with making animals from nothing...or maybe he should have used the rib of a primate.
God made Adam of clay, or dust, or whatever it was.
The point of the story is that (1) God is responsible for the creation of mankind, (2) from dust we were created, and to dust we shall return, and (3) God apparently spent a lot of time in his childhood with Play-doh.
